Fuji Electric identifies site in Vijayawada for smart grid project

fujiElectrical equipment manufacturer Fuji Electric has identified a site in Vijayawada for a proposed smart grid project. This will, however, only be a pilot project, the main one being planned in Amaravati, the upcoming capital. However, it is Mitsubhishi Corporation’s keen interest in investing in the proposed Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and the Krishnapatnam industrial node that has most enthused the visiting delegation. Industries secretary S.S. Rawat, who is in the CM’s delegation, suggested to the Mitsubhishi that it could set up a cluster near Krishnapatnam, bringing all its subsidiaries to one place.

Mitsubhishi has already committed to setting up a Japan Information and Study Centre at the Andhra University as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to promote Japanese language and culture. The Japanese major also expressed interest in celebrating M.S. Swaminathan’s 90{+t}{+h}birthday, in collaboration with the State government and the Chief Minister proposed that Amaravati be the venue.
