Next month’s general election in the UK has got an Indian flavour. Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan joined Indian-origin Labour Party candidate – Keith Vaz in campaigning in Leicester, near London recently.
Bachchan and Keith Vaz addressed fans and supporters in a packed hall where they were welcomed by screaming fans. “I have known Keith Vaz for a long time, he’s a good friend,” said the actor and added, “He supports the South-Asian population.”
Urging his fans to vote for Vaz, Bachchan also mentioned the work he has done for the community. “He has the qualities you look for in any leader.”
The UK general elections will see nearly 50 million people voting for a new government on the 7th of May.
