Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma has waded into controversy again by stating that the three time National Award winning Malayalam actor Mammootty was a ‘junior artiste’ compared to his son Dulquer Salmaan.
After watching the latest Mani Ratnam film O Kadhal Kanmani, RGV tweeted:”Jst saw Mani’s film and if the award commitee members have any sense they will take back all awards of Mamooty and give it to his son”
He further tweeted as”Mamooty should learn acting from his son..I mean realistic”
“Mammoottys son will make Kerala proud In the non Kerala markets in just years which Mamooty couldn’t do for decades”,he added.
In return to this the mammootty’s son tweeted “In ten lifetimes I won’t be one millionth the actor my father is, no matter what I accomplish.”
The Malayalam film industry has also not taken kindly to the RGV tweets.
Kunchako Boban, Aju Varghese and Aashique Abu are among those who have responded harshly on their Facebook page.
