Vijayawada city girl Sree Sathya bagged the title of ‘Miss Vijayawada 2015’ on Sunday. Saujanya and Priyanka were declared first and second runners-up of the event.
The platform gave them ample scope to showcase not just their attractive physical attributes but also to bring to the fore their inner beauty. They swaggered and swayed, twirled and twisted, posed and pouted leaving the audience asking for more.
Besides cat walk, they had to prove their mettle in other sequences ranging from introductory round to the final question-answer phase. If the western wear had them putting their best foot forward, the traditional rounds which saw the neophytes draped in bright and colourful designer churidar-suits and saris.
Responding to some of the initial introductions given in English by the participants, the organisers intervened to insist on use of only Telugu language since they were vying for ‘Miss Vijayawada’ title. Telugu film actor Sivaji, actress Poonam Kaur, director Nageswara Reddy and Dandamudi Avanindra Kumar were the judges. A group of cine and television artistes regaled the audience intermittently.
The programme was speckled with a good number of peppy songs and dance numbers. “The top three winners of the event will qualify to participate in Miss Andhra Pradesh contest which will be organised on a much larger scale,” said Sai Gottipati of Sai Creative Entertainments, the host of the show.
