Minor girl reveals her terrifying story of alleged sexual exploitation by Maoist

abuseA 13-year-old girl, who was a Maoist child soldier, from Jharkhand has revealed the alleged horrors she and other minor girls suffered at the hands of the ultras. An exclusive interrogation video exposes how Maoists use women and children as human shields.

The survivor also disclosed how Maoists allegedly sexually exploited other minor girls.

She was rescued after an encounter in the last week of March 2015. The encounter took place on the intervening night of March 27 and 28.

The victim was abducted in July 2014 from Gumla district of Jharkhand. The minor managed to escape but was kidnapped again in February 2015. The Maoist team was allegedly headed by Nakul Yadav, Member, Bihar Regional Committee.

“The Maoists came to my house at night for a meeting and asked the villagers whether or not they will give the children. Matanji came and told my parents to give the children. Nakul Yadav was also present with him. My parents asked how they could give their girls to which they said give us your children. They did another meeting where they threatened us saying that we should go with them if we did not want to fight. It was after this that the villagers sent the four of us with them,” claimed the survivor.

The survivor further mentioned how Maoists used them as human shields. “They were scared of the police so they used to keep small children in the front and back. The elder cadre was kept in the middle,” she recounted.

During an encounter with police in Latehar in March 2015, the minor was caught. The minor girl is still recovering from the bullet injuries she suffered on the night of the encounter in a Ranchi hospital.
