Warangal result a 100 percent positive vote for TRS: KCR

kcrMaintaining that the TRS victory in the by-election to the Warangal Lok Sabha seat is a 100 percent positive vote for his party, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said Congress and BJP-TDP combine should stop their “blind” opposition towards the state government.

Reacting to the result, KCR, for whom the by-poll was seen a first major political test after the government assumed office in June last year, said the outcome is “100 per cent endorsement and positive vote” for his government.

“Our responsibility now grows. This by-election reflected what the people are thinking about us (our performance). We feel this is a complete support from Warangal people who had also backed us during the statehood agitation and now”, he said.

TRS candidate P Dayakar won with a massive margin of 4.6 lakh votes, piling up a humiliating defeat on the Congress and BJP-TDP candidates who lost their security deposits.

Rao alleged that the Congress and BJP-TDP combine have been “blindly” voicing opposition to his government on various counts.

Citing the example of irrigation projects redesigning, proposal to construct a cultural complex in Hyderabad, proposal to construct a new Secretariat in the city and cleaning of Hussain Sagar lake, he alleged the opposition parties made “irrational allegations” aimed to see that the TRS government does not get good name.

He said improvement in power supply position, making seeds and fertilisers available to farmers, increasing social security pensions are among the achievements of his government.

“With an expenditure of Rs 33,000 crore, Telangana is the number one welfare state in the country,” he said.

Saying that the Warangal victory is a positive vote for his party, he wondered why BJP lost in the Ratlam Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh and Assembly polls in Delhi and Bihar earlier.
