Telangana CM discusses welfare issues with collectors

kcrWelfare of Dalits and minorities education system were among the issues discussed on the second day of the conference of district collectors and other officials with the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao  on Saturday.

Rao made several suggestions and decisions during his interaction with the officials, a release from his office said.

Noting that qualitative change has not happened on welfare of Dalits, Rao said land should be given to them.

The Government should help in the beneficiaries taking up cultivation in those lands, it said, adding collectors would be given the power to release funds for cultivation by Dalits.

Rao, who reviewed on education department, said the education system should be evolved in such a way that the youth of Telangana would be able to compete with the rest of the world, the release said.

Noting that his objective is to provide free and compulsory education to all children cutting across barriers of caste, he said ‘a KG to PG education policy’ is being prepared, the release said.

The Chief Minister favoured teaching in English Medium without ignoring Telugu, it said.

He also directed district collectors to study the prevailing situation of elementary school and provide the schools with toilets, drinking water and electricity supply, the release added.
