The saree for Michelle Obama is Super fine silk and it is in green color and 4.5 metres long. It is so light and weighs just 60 grams and delicate that it can fit into a match box. This special gift credit goes to a 27 year-old weaver, Nalla Vijay. He is from the town of Sircilla in Telengana has a very unique gift prepared for America’s First Lady Michelle Obama.The handloom weaver has also made a silk shawl for the US President which weighs just 30 grams and fits in a match box.
America’s first couple- US President Barack Obama and wife Michelle Obama- who will be the chief guests for the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow, have arrived in India and utmost care is being taken on the various gift items that is to be given to the Obamas.
Both the gift items have been handed over to Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya who then present it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and request him to gift it to the Obamas.
