YSR Congress MLA P. Raveendranatha Reddy declared that he will do hunger strike in Veerapunayunipalle mandal headquarters in Kadapa district on February 25 for the acquisition of adequate budgetary allocation to the Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi (GNSS) project works.
Mr. Raveendranatha Reddy who is a maternal uncle of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, told the media at Kamalapuram that: a budgetary allocation of at least Rs. 1,400 crore would help complete the works in Kadapa district to mitigate irrigation and drinking water woes. Further, he demanded the completion of Gandikota and Vamikonda reservoirs and filling of Sarvarayasagar with water under the GNSS to augment the supply of drinking and irrigation water to Kamalapuram, Veerapunayunipalle, Pendlimarry and Chintakommadinne mandals in Kamalapuram constituency. The MLA assured to elevate this issue in the Assembly session which will begin on March 7 .
