In a development that is bound to send fans of Telugu cinema into frenzy, the official trailer of Mahesh Babu’s latest movie ‘Srimanthudu’ has been released. Touted as an action-drama, the film has been directed by Koratala Siva.
The film also features Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu and Rajendra Prasad in pivotal roles. Shruti is clearly going through an excellent phase on the professional front at present. She will also be seen the keenly awaited ‘Puli’.
Based on the trailer, ‘Srimanthudu’ will feature quite a few gripping fight sequences. Moreover, there may also be some dramatic showdowns between Mahesh Babu and his co-stars.
The film’s cinematography has been handled by R Madhi. His best known projects include ‘Shaitaan’, ‘Mirchi’ and ‘Paiyaa’.
‘Srimanthudu’ went on the floors last year. It was shot in places such as Pune, Bangkok and Hyderabad. Some scenes were shot abroad as well.
‘Srimanthudu’ is bound to be a musical treat as the soundtrack has been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. A big name in the Telugu film industry his notable projects include ‘Mass’, ‘Bhai’ and ‘Mr Perfect’.
Prasad’s tunes could go a long way in adding new life to the lively romance between Shruti Haasan and Mahesh Babu.The film arrives in theatres this August.
Mahesh Babu’s last big screen outing ‘Aagadu’ wasn’t too successful at the box office.. Hence, it will be interesting to see whether he is able to bounce back in style with ‘Srimanthudu’.
