DRDA holds job fair at Karimnagar

job fairThere was overwhelming response to the mega job mela organised by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and the Varadhi Society at Ambedkar stadium in Karimnagar town on Thursday.

Several hundreds of unemployed youth arrived from various parts of the district to participate in the mega job mela.

They formed serpentine queues to attend the interviews conducted by various companies. A total of 30 companies participated in the job mela to provide more than 3,500 jobs.

The authorities also made elaborate arrangements such as erection of separate counters for specific jobs in different sections such as the health sector, insurance security, driving, hospitality, security etc. Participating as chief guest, Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar said that the job melas would be of immense help for unemployed youth to secure employment.

Appreciating the district administration for conducting the mega job mela, he said that there more than 7 lakh jobs would be generated for youth in the banking sector, in the next four years. He also told students to gear up for the TSPSC employment notifications soon.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, Collector Neetu Prasad, legislator B. Shoba, Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, DRDA project director Arunasri and others were present.
