In a shocking incident, a 38-year-old woman was admitted to a hospital near Tirupati after her ex-husband allegedly attacked by throwing acid on her. The victim later succumbed to her injuries.
The incident occurred near Kalur Cross Roads of Tirupati rural of the district when the accused Khaja Hussain, who had divorced to the victim a few years ago, allegedly poured acid on her face.
Chandragiri police have filed a case and further probe is on.
The incident sparked a protest in the city with people demanding immediate action. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the police to arrest the culprit immediately.
