New exciting online courses on ‘The Rise of Superheroes and Their Impact on Pop Culture’

Super-HeroesShort-term online courses are catching up and the range of topics offered is eye-popping.

For instance, one course promises to teach you about ‘The Ethics of Eating’. In this course, you will learn the “ethical frameworks that help us process all of that empirical, sociological and political information surrounding the way we purchase, cook, and eat food.” Another unique course that instantly catches your attention is ‘The Science of Happiness’, which promises to teach “science-based principles and practices for a happy, meaningful life.”

The latest to storm the online world is edX’s new course on ‘The Rise of Superheroes and Their Impact on Pop Culture’, which is being offered along with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

It intends to explore the reason behind superheroes becoming a dominant cultural force from the time they first arose in 1938 to the comic book era. The course will be taught by Stan Lee, one of the creators of the modern superhero template, and Michael Uslan, executive producer of top grossing movies, including The Dark Knight series
