A 6-year-old girl fell into an open drain in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. Officials are still searching for her. The drain that the girl fell into opens out into the sea so officials suspect that the child may have been washed away.
Adithi, a first standard student, who was returning from tuition along with three other girls at 6 pm yesterday, accidentally slipped and fell into the drain at HB Colony while getting into a car, MVP zone Police Inspector Vidyasagar said on Friday, adding that she has been “missing” since then. “It was raining at the time the incident occurred.
It seems Adithi did not notice the drain as water had flooded the area. The search operation is on. Police, municipal workers and fire department staff have searched the entire area thrice since Thursday but without any success,” he said.
