In a shocking incident, a married woman from West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh committed suicide as her parents forced her into prostitution. The victim recorded a selfie video before committing suicide by jumping into a canal.
In the video, she alleged that her parents and brother forced her into prostitution.
The woman said when she refused to oblige, she was beaten up and raped. The woman claimed that her family had recorded video of her being raped in order to blackmail her.
The woman said, “My mother, father and brother have driven me to commit suicide. They are torturing me, my mother says she will sell me. A man has threatened to kill my husband and child.”
The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered an inquiry into the death.
