A man who identified as Ravi Sankar (40) was hacked to death at Suryaraopeta in Kakinada on Monday.
According to the police sources,Ravi Sankar got separated from his wife Anantalakshmi and was staying in an apartment complex at Ramaraopeta along with another woman from Pithapuram. The woman, he was living-in with, too was separated from her husband.
Nageswara Rao, the woman’s father, who was upset with his daughter’s live-in relationship, stating that it was affecting the family’s honour, tried to persuade her to return, but in vain.
On Monday morning, the police said, Nageswara Rao came to the city from Pithapuram on the pretext of visiting his daughter. He carried a sickle in his handbag. However, Ravi Sankar was not there then. He made his daughter to call Ravi Sankar, stating that he wanted to speak to him. Even as Ravi Sankar was entering the complex, Nageswara Rao attacked him with the sickle and hacked him to death. His daughter, who tried to go to the rescue of Ravi Sankar sustained injuries. As Ravi Sankar collapsed in a pool of blood in the car parking, Nageswara Rao fled from the scene and surrendered before the Indrapalem police.
