The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission was said to have been formally bifurcated between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.
Though the Telangana State Public Commission came into existence on December 18 last in accordance with provisions of the State Reorganisation Act, it did not have any infrastructure so far and the chairman and members were given chambers informally.
A few days ago, Telangana commission represented by its chairman Ghanta Chakrapani and member C. Vittal and AP commission comprising chairman Sivaramakrishna and G. Chandrasekhar entered into an understanding by which the second and third floors of the commission building at Nampally will go to the Telangana commission. The fourth and fifth floors will go to AP commission while the first floor will be common to both the commissions. The files, movable assets and employees of the commission were already distributed. The Governor reportedly appreciated the smooth manner in which the erstwhile commission was bifurcated.
