The State has recorded its best-ever results in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination with an overall pass percentage of 81.82, bettering the previous high of 81.19 recorded last year.
Of the total 8.37 lakh students, who appeared for the examination in March- April 2015, as many as 6.85 lakh have passed.
Udupi district with a pass percentage of 93.37 has leaped into the top spot this year from the 19th it was in 2014, while Gadag has recorded the biggest drop from 13th position to 34th position (last among the educational districts) with a pass percentage of 66.74.
Vishwajit Prakash Hegde from Sirsi Lion’s English High School has secured the highest marks of 623 marks out of 625.
Like every year, girls have outperformed boys (86.23 per cent and 77.85 per cent).
