In Indore, a married woman was allegedly forced to breast-feed a youth, with whom she had run away secretly , by a panchayat at Bayda village in Alirajpur district of Madhya Pradesh, which wanted to teach her a lesson, police said. Four persons have been arrested.
“They were arrested on the charge of torturing a 25-year-old married woman and her 21-year-old boyfriend on December 31, on the directives of the panchayat,” police said on Friday
The woman run away secretly in order to get married with her boyfriend leaving her husband and three kids two months ago.
The angry villagers nabbed them in Gujarat. After bringing them back, they were beaten severely and produced before a Bhil panchayat. On the directives of the panchayat, the woman’s hair was cut, while the youth was tonsured. The panchayat then ordered the woman to breast-feed the youth with whom she eloped and consider him as her son in future.
