Andhra Pradesh govt Started land pooling scheme for new capital

APUnder the land-pooling scheme, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has started signing agreements with land owners and farmers in the capital region starting from Tulluru Mandal to construct a new capital. The authority acquired 850 acres of land from 540 farmers yesterday.

Cheques are issued to more than 500 farmers who has given their land.The compensation amount is fixed as per the size of the land contributed by the farmer.

The land pooling incharge in Tulluru Mandal of Guntur District ,Joint Collector of Guntur Dr C Sridhar stated that by Thursday evening, we expect to complete formalities of signing agreements with nearly 800 farmers involving 1550 acres of land. Approximately,it will take one month time for the possession of the entire land of 32,000 acres.

The signing of agreements with farmers started in Nelapadu village of Tulluru Mandal, the centre of core capital region, according to CRDA Commissiner N Srikanth. The exercise is being conducted in 26 units — each unit is one village; a bigger village is divided into two units —and Revenue Department officials headed by Joint Collectors are overseeing the process.
