Blood Donation Camps For Thalassemia Patients

bloodOn the occasion of celebrating Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad, socio-religious believers organised the   blood donation camp on Monday. According to them they have got as 2,800 units of blood ,donated by around 3,000 people at various places among  the twin cities.

On the cause of them ,Sunni United Forum of Indian (SUFI) and former AP State Wakf Board member Syed Zaheeruddin Soofi , mentioned that “We wanted to help the people with poor health. That is why we began our drive to help patients suffering from thalassemia, a blood disorder.”

Organised by Forum for Cultural Upgradation and Social Service (FOCUS), Irshad ul Muslimeen and other organisations, the blood donation camps were held at the State Central Library (SCL) in Afzalgunj and Balamrai Eidgah in Secunderabad.

“The  organisers came forward to help TSCS is because thalassemia patients are not covered under the Aaryogyasri scheme that provides healthcare benefits to those who cannot afford it. We have made several representations to the government to recognise this disorder and are hopeful that our efforts will bear fruit,” said TSCS joint secretary, Aleem Baig, father of two thalassemic daughters.
