India’s home secretary Anil Goswami removed on Wednesday night for interfering in CBI investigations against a politician. The present ruling BJP government asked Mr Goswami to resign after he admitted to making a telephone call to the CBI in the aid of Congress leader Matang Sinh, who was arrested last week in the Saradha chit fund case.
Hence, Mr Goswami was left with no choice other than to quit the Home Secretary post.
The new home secretary, LC Goyal, has been a joint secretary in the home ministry when the UPA was in power. He is likely to take the post over soon.
Including Anil Goswami The BJP government fired top three officials this year. Previously , they removed Sujatha Singh as Foreign Secretary and replaced her with S Jaishankar. And they also removed, missile scientist Avinash Chander as chief of India’s Defence Research and Development Organization.
