Municipal Corporation workers strike enters the eighth day in Telangana

waste1The infinite strike of municipal workers in state of Telangana has been going on for over eight days and talks with government authorities to resolve the impasse has failed so far. Garbage has piled on the roads creating problems to the residents in Hyderabad.

In Telangana’s capital, piled up garbages are causing foul smell.

During the Swachh Telangana campaign, Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao had adopted the Parsigutta area in Secunderabad and had pledged it to keep clean. But as the strike continues, the whole city is getting worse.

“We can’t even walk on the roads and the government has not yet came or taken an action”, said a resident Sainath.
