Prior tomandatory rule manufacturers voluntarily involved ready to follow the rule to showcase the safety aspects.The test facilities in the country may be insufficient ,the ministry will allotw testing of new modela at facilities outside India .If the new car designed with the declared norms the ministry will buy select vehicles and pay for the test and the ministry will also notify safety assessment of new vehicle in India and other countries too.Due to this car manufacturers can get star rating based on the better safety features.
According to car manufacturers installation of security features like air bags, anti-lock braking systems, electronic brake distribution, electronic stability control, seat belt reminder and child lock functionality check would raise the price by 30%.Eventhough authorities said that there is no compromise on mandatory safety features.
