Google Maps adds Indian rail schedules to help you plan better trips across country

google mapGoogle Maps,the search giant has added Indian Railways to its Transit feature that will provide you train schedules and help you plan your public transport trips in a better manner.

Google Transit is a feature on Google Maps that provides you information about public transport available in a particular city. It is available both on web and mobile.

With the latest addition of the Indian Railways schedule, along with an updated information for public transport in eight Indian cities, you will now be able to see details for 12,000 trains, as well as bus and metro routes from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

When planning a trip with Google Transit, all that you need to do is type in your destination into Google Maps, click on Get Directions, and select Public Transit. You can find which metro, train, or bus options are available for your journey. You can also choose your preferred mode of transport and the time you would like to depart or arrive by.

We hope that the addition of the Indian Railways schedules pan India and updated information for eight cities to Google Transit in India will make it a little easier to plan your next trip.”

Google Maps has public transportation schedules for more than one million transit stops worldwide, in 2,800 cities including New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney.
